Mafa and Associates Inc is established based on the following principles‑ commitment, dedication, excellence, hard work and professionalism, and the main vision of the firm is to be one of the leading black commercial law firms in South Africa and the Diaspora.
THE FOUNDER
Mafa and Associates was founded by Mr Mmapau Justin Mafa (Mr Mafa) at the beginning of January 2019. Prior to this, Mr Mafa served his articles of clerkship at Polokwane Justice Center in Polokwane . After serving his articles of clerkship, Mr Mafa established M.J. Mafa Attorneys in 2009 as a Principal Attorney until the firm was closed in 2010. Mr Mafa has expertise in a wide range of legal disciplines.In 2010 Mr Mafa joined Mopani District Municipality as Manager Legal Services until 15 October 2018.Mr Mafa has acquired a lot of knowledge and experience in dealing with various Commercial matters.

Our approach is to render excellent and cost-efficient legal solutions that suite our clients’ needs. To achieve this, we always strive to acquire better understanding of our clients’ business and regulatory environment within which our clients operate. This, together with the ability to appreciate the impact one issue may have on the other facets of the business, ensures that our clients are offered solutions that make both commercial and business sense.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to be one of the leading black commercial law firms in South Africa and the Diaspora. It is no doubt true that there are very few black commercial law firms in South Africa. Our Brics relationship as a Country has opened new opportunities for Commercial firms to seize. China-Africa Forum has further opened opportunities for black Commercial law firms to participate in International Commercial Transactions between trading Nations/and or Companies. This is partly because in the past, black lawyers have always been confined to do the traditional Motor Vehicle Accident and criminal matters. This is, in our view, incorrect. It is now time for paradigm shift as there are now endless opportunities for black lawyers to do corporate and commercial legal work.
